STUDENT PROJECT- Hi, I’m Anoushka Metrani, a filmmaking student who is passionate about telling stories that mix humour, heart, and a touch of chaos. My latest short film, The Cheat Day, is a dark comedy about a debt collector whose last job takes an absurd turn when all he really wants… is a slice of hazelnut cake.
It’s funny, tense, and a little bit twisted, a crime story served with frosting.
I’m raising £2,500 to bring this film to life with a talented crew of emerging filmmakers. Every pound goes straight on screen, from creating our retro-noir café set to renting professional equipment and paying the artists who make this possible.
We want The Cheat Day to travel to international film festivals like BFI London, Raindance, and Aesthetica, representing bold, independent storytelling made by a new generation of filmmakers.
Your support doesn’t just fund one film; it helps us, creatives, make our mark in the industry. No matter how much you donate, you’re helping bring a cinematic, character-driven story to life.
If you can’t contribute financially, you can still help by sharing this page; every repost, share, and conversation brings us closer to making The Cheat Day a reality.
Thank you for believing in independent cinema, and for giving this story a chance to shine.
Because sometimes, the sweetest stories… come from taking a little cheat day.
