Chapters is a collection of works created by the graduating class of the Performance Dance program at Toronto Metropolitan University. An upcoming performance running from April 11-12, 2025 showcasing the culmination of years of dance training and artistic development.

This project is the final showcase where the 4th year dancers work together as a class before emerging into the professional space.

It is important to note that every aspect of Chapters is created, managed and produced by students of the Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University which is why every donation counts, and any amount given truly makes a difference!

A little bit more about the work…

Chapters explores a sense of interplay between past and present through an overarching theme of nostalgia. While implementing a wide variety of movement styles such as modern dance, jazz, contemporary, and tap, the project also involves other areas of artistic practices such as voice work. Chapters highlights the work of 16 choreographers featuring a total of 20 dancers presented through the framework of a continuous performance separated into distinct sections. As the performance unfolds, audience members are introduced to multiple chapters while embarking on the performers’ journey as their unique artistic identities crystalize. Hence, each chapter brings the performers closer to their quest for the finish line. The production then becomes a reflection of the chapters that the performers are slowly enclosing as they are emerging in a new stage of their professional lives.
