The Channel 2 Bursary Fund
SURPRISE! We want your money!
We're a bunch of ADs who want to raise a bit of cash to help people from low income backgrounds make their start in the film industry.
--------
This summer we’re running a Tough Mudder to raise funds for our brand new project - The Channel 2 Bursary Fund.
Working with NFTS Scotland, Channel 2 aims to help increase diversity and equality within Scotland’s film and television industry by helping people from low-income backgrounds access entry-level training on courses with vocational outcomes, (eg. Camera Assisting, Working in the Assistant Director’s Department, Introduction to the Film and TV Art Department.) The fund is aimed at people who, without financial support, would find it difficult to access training and therefore job opportunities within the sector.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
Money raised will go directly to NFTS Scotland and will be used to fully fund course places for low-income applicants based in Scotland.
WHY NFTS SCOTLAND?
We’ve chosen NFTS Scotland because we believe they are offering well-considered, short-term courses that can lead to tangible employment opportunities within the local industry.
WHAT’S TOUGH MUDDER?
It’s an 8-10 mile obstacle course. This year, Tough Mudder Scotland is taking place on June 15th at Drumlanrig Castle. More info here: https://toughmudder.co.uk/events/2019-scotland-classic
WHY SHOULD I DONATE?
1. Because you’re a wonderful, altruistic person
2. Because you’re related to one of us and it’s compulsory
3. Because you work in the Scottish Film & TV industry and you want to support training for those entering your department
The team:
Katharine (KK) Kennedy, Alison Piper, Charlotte Hailstone, Ollie Hilton, Fraser Malcolm, Sean McDonald
