I am running the North Devon half Marathon in June, and I would be really grateful if you could support me in raising money for The Champ Foundation. The Champ Foundation helps to research rare childhood conditions like Pearsons Syndrome. This condition holds a real and personal significance to us as a family, and so your support would mean a great deal to us.

Children with Pearson’s often need blood transfusions and sometimes bone marrow transplants in their first few years of life. Even then, it is often fatal in early childhood. There are only 100 recorded cases and so doctors are largely unaware of its existence, much less aware of the symptoms to look out for.

Furthering research and awareness is therefore really vital work.

As this is a very small foundation, anything you donate will initially come to me. Once I complete the race I will donate the full amount directly to the foundation. I will let you know the final amount I have donated on your behalf.
