The Cat’s Meow-Cat Rescue in Greece
Donation protected
Hi! I began doing cat rescue in Greece in September 2020 because of the dire situation of stray cats, only exacerbated by the pandemic. My efforts started with feeding, grew into TNR, and now include medical treatment, rehabilitation, and adoption. Until now, every thing has been paid for from my savings. But this is not sustainable, and so I’m humbling asking for financial aid so I can continue to alleviate the suffering of the strays.
To date, I’ve TNR’d 250+ cats, provided medical rehabilitation for 37 cats, and found permanent, indoor homes (some internationally) for 25 lucky cats!
In February alone, the expenses were 1330 euros. So one can only imagine the cumulative total of my expenses to date. I have a private FB page under this same name, and anyone is encouraged to join it so you can meet the cats I support, and aid.
Thank you for your interest and support. Rescuers struggle daily with the balance of limited resources (time and money specifically). Because we are completely outnumbered by cats, the daunting reality causes burn out and emotional fatigue. This is especially so in Greece where the laws and funding are woefully lacking to support animal welfare. Building a community of supporters helps us know it’s not in vain, we’re not fighting alone, and that what we do has value.
Thank you, on behalf of myself, and more importantly- on behalf of the cats of Greece!
