Fantastic!! Here you are!!!!!! Just like in the movie "Build it and they will come!" Welcome to our "Cat'tage" our Forever Home for Unwanted Cats. I'm "Farmer" the cute guy in the picture with all the Christmas stuff our Auntie Dude sent us for Christmas one year. I was born and lived in the barn with the fancy Clydesdale horses. I used to go down the road, cross the road through the culvert, hide out in the cornfield and spy on those cats that lived there. They had something I'd never experienced before, love and attention and this new delicacy called "Treat's". One day their HB (Human Being or Honey Bear) spotted and outed me. I was so scared so ran back in the corn but was so fascinated I kept coming back again and again! I made friends and played nice and when I got up enough courage I crept into the house and peed in the water bowl but HB explained we don't do that in a house! No troughs to pee in you have to do it in a box of hardwood pellets LOL. That was just crazy!!! I heard HB talking to her friend telling her how she had gone down to visit the man with the horses to ask if he had a cat with a "down" ear? He'd said yes it's a barn cat and if it's bothering her he would dispose of "it"!! She said "He's no bother just making sure he has a home". I was horrified and decided I was never going back to that barn again and I never did! With my new family and friends I had to get neutered or spayed like everyone else because that's just the way it was. Whenever we moved we always all went together. We just moved a year ago all the way across the country from East Coast to West Coast to be closer to loved ones and friends to live somewhere we are all legal and allowed freedom to be and roam. Thats how all 19 of us ended up back on the Pacific. We are a real mix of personalities and characters and over half of us are Feral's. They are so funny!! Don't touch me!! No I won't sit on your lap!! BUT they will curl up next to her when she falls asleep. We are all friends and play and hunt and climb fences together. Our BIG brother Jimmy so far has brought home 18 giant rats! Just yuk!!! HB says they are Thank you gifts and he's doing a terrific job cleaning up the neighbourhood!! I just say gross!! I love getting brushed and feel so special being petted and under my chin being rubbed like the other cats. The Feral's don't know what they are missing but they feel loved, wanted and taken care of too but at a distance. HB has never , ever said "No" to a cat in need of a home for whatever reason she just says it's the right thing to do. She makes everything soft and comfortable and colourful for us because she loves us all and that's just what you do!! We have our own table where we eat and always have crunchies and fresh water and canned food for breakfast and supper. OMG almost forgot to tell you about our once a month "Chicken Party's" where HB gets us a rotisserie chicken and skins and cuts it all up for us with steamed mashed carrots sprinkled with catnip to celebrate whoever has a Birthday that month!!! Talk about DELICIOUS!!!!! AND we all LOVE Temptations!!! She shakes the package and we all come running from everywhere and she throws a couple of hand fulls on the floor and we all go nuts!!
We know in our hearts she loves each and every weird one of us but just don't get how she also loves the "Grinch" that's just so weird! We try not to think about it but what would happen to all of us if something happened to our HB because she's in her seventies and a "low or no LOL income senior" just trying so hard to keep us together and apparently we are very expensive! Oh gotta go I hear the bag shaking candy time!!!! Love Farmer, and all my friends. xoxox
Farmer thank you for introducing yourself and our family so well. That was magnificent! Thank you also to you, our visitor for dropping in and still reading. I'm Marilyn their HB. I'm a low maintenance kind of woman with over 30 years of being clean and sober. Worked hard all my life but never had any investments. I've always loved all living creatures and helped whenever I could. At first I was embarrassed and ashamed at where I find myself broke financially. Now having come to terms with where I am and what I chose to do I know it could be worse. I pay my rent and bills and at the end of the month no longer have the approximate $400 extra necessary to look after these cats in the way they deserve. There is the food, the litter, the treats, laundry soap its amazing how much laundry I do! Blankets and pillows and beds everything adds up but I like them fresh and I know the cats like them that way too. And the dryer now screams when i use it so I will be keeping an eye out for a new secondhand one. Then there's the periodic vet appointment that makes me shudder. If something happens to me I would like to know these cats could stay together and continue to be fed and taken care of. My goal is with your help and kindness and generosity is to have an account for them that I can get them what ever they need every month without falling back into depression or maxing out credit cards which just adds to my stress.I'm a very private person who also has PTSD but I'm choosing to be honest with you so you understand my situation better. About a week ago I had an unexpected visit from an Officer from SPCA's "Cruelty to Animals" here to investigate me due to a complaint someone filed against me. I almost had a heart attack but I invited her in and she met most of the cats but some feral's were under the bed or in their hidy cave but she still saw them. She saw everything and by the end of the visit she said that everything was so clean and comfortable and she could tell I truly cared about and for them. She suggested I take 3 to the vet for their runny noses which I did and they each got a shot of time released antibiotics and we came home. The Officer was so knowledgeable and kind and wants me to call her when this gofundme is up and running.I believe in miracles, each little cat is a miracle and I do not believe we have come this far to be dropped on our heads. Yes we do need lots of help I admit it. From the very bottom of my heart I appreciate and gratefully accept any help of donations that you are so kindly able to give us.  Thank you from all of us at The "Cat'tage"
