Sponsor my Hike to the Summit of the Sierra Negra Volcano in Galapagos on 17 November 2024
Dear friends of the Captive Animal Enrichment Project (CAEP), what would I do to help animals in captivity? Pretty much anything, including hiking up a volcano in the Galapagos! This is exactly what I am days away from doing, and I would love your support.
I won’t be doing it alone. Meet Strelitzia Bananas, my faithful companion, and the CAEP (pronounced ‘cape’) mascot.
On Tuesday 5 November, Strelitzia Bananas and I will hop on a ferry to Isabela Island in the Galapagos, and on 11 November, we will set out to reach the ragged summit of the Sierra Negra, which last erupted in June 2018.
Over and above being an exciting and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, this adventure has a very real purpose – to help us raise awareness of the organisation and – most importantly – to raise funds for CAEP. Every cent raised will go towards the start-up costs for this unique charity whose mission it is to radically improve the quality of life for animals living in captivity.

If you'd like to be one of the sponsors of the fundraising hike, remember
ANY amount will be appreciated and put to good use. Please follow CAEP on Instagram (@captiveanimalenrichmentproject) and Facebook (Captive Animal Enrichment Project) for photos, videos and (dependent on the reception up there) maybe even a live stream or two along the way!
With love and gratitude for all of our supporters... here we go!
