The Captains Funeral

Donation protected

On Monday 23rd March 2020 our dear friend Alan Richards aka ‘The Captain’ sadly left the soul scene and our lives suddenly with no warning.

Alan was the life and soul of every party/soul gathering/event. He would often be seen wearing his captain hat, Sergio Tacchini tracksuits, dodgy jumpers and the famous awful coat that he wore and got stick/attention for!

Alan was a likeable guy who made many friends on the souls scene. He was the first to help and support anyone but also found himself in situations where people took advantage of his good nature. He was outspoken and didn’t hold back, sometimes causing fall outs along the way.

Alan passing has not only shocked everyone it has come at a very hard time for friends and especially family. What with the Covid 19 Virus stopping visiting/travel and movement between places and           financially being able to pay for a funeral that          wasn’t prepared for.

Alan’s next of kin is his sister Denise, she is devastated and now finds herself in a position where she has to financially pay for her brothers funeral which is extremely      hard especially as her work has been stopped due   to the virus.

I am kindly asking if you can help Denise give Alan a funeral albeit a basic one with probably only a      handful of people allowed to attend. Thats  all we  can have right now due to the virus but we hope    we can celebrate his life with a real soul memorial night in the summer when all this virus malarkey is over.

If you are able to donate Denise and myself would be so grateful as I know Alan would be.
(I can hear him saying ‘stick ya hands in ya pocket  you tight git’!).
We all know how generous he was with his money, even in December when he gave some winning he got in Goa to a local who needed it more than him.

Like me, I know Alan touched the hearts and souls of many and losing him has shocked so many of us.

If you can make a donation it will be appreciated somuch and will take a big burden and worry off his    sisters mind when she is already struggling with      the loss of Alan let alone the worry of affording a     Funeral for him.
