The Caporina Family

Hello, My name is Kiersten and I am Thomas’s sister. Saturday, July 15th was supposed to be a routine appointment for Stephanie at 27 weeks gestation, and a beautiful baby shower to follow and celebrate her soon-to-be baby girl Gianna. Unfortunately, her day did not go as planned and the Doctor found an abnormal result with her placenta, up until this point all of Stephanie's testing was within normal range. She was immediately sent to Labor and Delivery where she was carefully monitored for the next 4 days. Yesterday, July 20th, After more complications than baby Gianna could handle on the inside, Stephanie and Thomas became parents to their little 1 pound 13 oz fighter. Gianna has a ways to go, to get herself big and strong for her to be able to keep up with her crazy big cousins, but she is doing well and I have faith that she will thrive.

Many of you have asked what you can do to help, at this time, in addition to many many prayers, I am asking for some help to alleviate some of the financial hardships for Thomas and his family, while they spend the next few months in the Hospital. Stephanie has been battling Chronic Kidney disease since the age of 12, so this recovery is not a typical one for Mommy or baby. Anyone who knows my little brother knows, he is the first to help out in any situation he can, and the last to ask for any help, so I am doing it for him.
