This is Miss Tina. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother who has been a bus driver for 47 years. She is so much more than that, though. Let me tell you who she is to me.
This woman right here does more than just get the children to school on time. She has invested her time and energy into the children on bus 162. My daughter was having a really hard week with her ADHD symptoms. Miss Tina called me to make me aware of the situation. I couldn't help it, I bawled on the phone. I felt defeated, and as if I somehow it was all my fault. This woman right here talked to me for 40 mins. She encouraged me. She supported me. She truly cared about my daughter. She has gone above and beyond what is expected of her.
Yes, this is Miss Tina. The woman who stops everything to tell you you're going to be okay and you are doing an amazing job as a mom. The woman who sees how worn out you are and offers to babysit. She is way more than a bus driver.
Now, let me tell you what's going on with this beautiful lady. She has needs that aren't being met. She shared with me how she wants teeth, but they are so expensive. Medicare won't help her with the expenses. She has been saving, but she has multiple surgeries coming up in the near future.
As soon as she shared this with me, I knew God wanted to bless her and give her a beautiful smile to match her beautiful heart. God just needed me to move and help make it happen. I decided, at that very moment, that this was going to happen. I have been working with Anesthesia Care Partners and Hartman Oral Surgery. They have generously offered their services at a discounted rate. However, this is still a very costly procedure, and I need help to make this a reality for her.
Medicare may not care about Miss Tina but we do. Our healthcare system may have let her down but we won't. I am asking you to give more than what makes sense. I am asking you to give money and make someone else's life better because of it. I am asking you to dig deep into your pocket but even deeper into your heart. I am asking you to make the world a better place by caring for someone else besides yourself.
