The Burt Family Fight

As many of you know our family has been hit hard the last few years and unfortunately the hits keep coming.  Last week my niece Tiffany (37),  her husband Chad(41) , along with their two sons, Chaddie (12) and Silas (10) received some results that we were praying would come back differently.  Chad was diagnosed with cancer; polycythemia vera. This cancer effects his blood and is already causing vascular issues with his legs and he has an immediate risk of a heart attack or stroke due to the deep vein thrombosis. We are awaiting for further testing to be done on his vital organs to see what and how they are effected. We currently know that his spleen is extremely enlarged and the sonogram will give them a visual of not only his spleen but also his kidneys and liver. As you can imagine this has not only caused many emotions with the uncertainty but a huge strain on their finances. Chad is self employed as a contractor and has not been able to work as he normally would and there are going to be many more expenses that will come along in the days and months ahead.

In addition to the challenges they are facing with Chad’s illness Tiffany was in a car accident earlier in the year and she has not been able to work along side Chad at her normal capacity. She will be having surgery on her left shoulder that will require 6 plus months of rehabilitation with the hope of her regaining full mobility  of her dominant hand.

The expenses will continue to grow and with the uncertainty of Chad’s ability to work we are asking for your help.
