Hi, my name is Tara Sanborn. Marissa has been my sister by choice since I was four years old. Please take a minute to read her story. ♥️
On Tuesday, February 6, 2023, at 5:09pm, Marissa called 911. While working from home with the windows open on the most beautiful of days, she smelt smoke and heard a crackling noise. Only to discover mere FEET from where she was working her garage was engulfed in flames, to include their car. Miraculously, Marissa, Ryan, Ellie, Cammie and their dog cheddar, all are safe with only Ryan suffering minor injuries trying to save his family’s home. Horrifically, on the other side of the wall where the fire started, their girls share a room, and the thought of what could have been is terrifying. Their dreams had finally come true less than five months ago. They had closed on their brand new house, in the most incredible community of neighbors, and they were continuing to adjust to parenting their daughter Ellie’s type one diabetes diagnosis with compassionate support before this devastating fire took hold. In mere minutes, their beautiful life they had created, literally went up in flames. Though there will be things that are salvageable, their brand new home will be demolished and their lives will be uprooted until otherwise noted. This family has been through so much, and although they would never ever ask for help themselves… they without a doubt will need financial help navigating this all encompassing loss. If it’s on your heart to pray for and support them, please know there isn’t an appropriate way to say thank you… thank you.
