Support The Bummers as we prepare to record our sophomore album and go on our first ever tour of the west coast!
The Album
The Bummers have been building momentum since the release of our debut album A Very Exciting Life in summer 2018. Over the past year we’ve gone on two tours of the east coast, released a new EP (summer 2019’s Dairy Beach), played incredible shows at New Orleans venues like House of Blues and Gasa Gasa, and made our television debut on WGNO News With A Twist. Everything we’ve done has been accomplished independently through our own resources and our small management team.
Since returning to New Orleans at the end of our July tour this summer, we’ve been working nonstop on a selection of brand new songs, and we want this new material to be the basis for our second album.
This summer, we were also fortunate enough to record two songs with John Naclerio at his studio, NADA Recordings - located deep in the woods in Montgomery, NY. John is known mainly for mixing and mastering albums by bands like My Chemical Romance and Brand New, but he’s also mixed and mastered all of our work since our debut album.
For our second album, we’re raising funds that will allow us to travel to Montgomery NY and spend two weeks at NADA Recordings, focusing exclusively on creating an album. We’ve never been able to do something like this before.
West-Coast Tour
The Bummers are also gearing up for a tour in January 2020! This will be The Bummers’ first ever west-coast tour, which will take the band through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona before reaching the coast cities of California, Oregon, and Washington.
When we go on tour we’re always on a budget. We’re so thankful for all the friends and family members who have taken us in and given us home-cooked meals and all the local bands who have also opened their homes to us.
As we prepare to take our music to new places, raised funds will be used in part for the upfront costs of touring - helping us rent a van and pay for gas and lodging when necessary.
