The Buena Vista Drone Training Park development

Drone technology is changing the face of many industries. It makes jobs like inspecting towers, power lines and even solar panels much safer and quicker. But perhaps even more importantly, the technology is affording kids the chance to learn about and prepare for careers in aviation in ways previously not possible.
Central Colorado UAS, in cooperation with the Town of Buena Vista, Colorado, is creating a world-class drone training facility. Student pilots of all types benefit from using this park. High schoolers learn how to fly and hone their skills to prepare them for vast employment opportunities. Public safety pilots are able to practice a variety of skills like flying through doors and windows. Those working in industries that use towers can practice inspection techniques from the safety of the Park. Even racing enthusiasts have a large area to practice.
We have been actively and successfully seeking grants to fund these activities. So far, we have been awarded three grants, with the most substantial coming from the Ray Foundation. The Ray Foundation grant  is a $50,000 matching grant payable in two installments of $25,000 to support development of the drone park and high school curriculums.  The Ray Foundation grant does not pay the first installment until we meet the first goal of raising $25,000 in contributions, grants and in-kind donations. The second installment will be paid when we can demonstrate achievement of the second $25,000 installment. With these funds, we will be able to run power to the Drone Training Park, build an education center there, and acquire a diverse fleet of drones for use by our schools.

We need your help!! Please consider making a donation to help us achieve our fundraising goals because now your donation will be doubled and every little bit helps! And if you know other individuals or organizations that would be interested in supporting our mission, please share this with them.
