Daniela has been in this country for more than 20 years. She entered the country legally at a young age. She created a life here with her sisters and their mother after they left their home, friends, and family behind to come and live the “American Dream”. For the past 20 years, they struggled but persevered because they always had each other. In spite of her situation, Daniela has always tried to do things the right way. She graduated high school, worked, paid taxes, and recently started studying to get a Nursing degree.
Daniela is sweet, kind, bubbly and has an unwavering zest for life. She is someone you can count on and her friends and family are the most important thing to her. She is an aunt, a sister, and a daughter, and her family is her life. Her nieces and nephews are the light of her life and her sisters are her best friends.
During her time in the US, Daniela applied for DACA twice and was denied because she entered the country a few months after her 16th birthday. Her mother, who is a legal resident, petitioned for her and since that petition was approved and awaiting a visa to become available. But until then Daniela can’t have legal status in the US.
This week, ICE detained her right in front of her own home when going to work, and she is now being held at a correctional facility and facing deportation. She is being torn apart from her family and the home she has known for her entire adult life.
Please help Daniela in this very difficult time.
The funds will go toward legal fees, travel and relocation expenses and a fund to start a new life.
