Honouring a Legacy of Service by Standing Beside Others

In the wake of the devastating avalanche on Broad Peak, our hearts remain with every family whose lives have been changed forever. We want to thank everyone who has reached out and offered to help.

Whilst we continue to mourn the loss of our founder, Nims Purja MBE, we are equally conscious that many other families have suffered unimaginable loss. Behind every climber, guide and support team member was a son or daughter, a husband or wife, a parent, a friend and the centre of someone's world.

Nims believed that true leadership was measured not by what we achieved for ourselves, but by how we lifted others when they needed us most.

It is in that spirit that the Nimsdai Foundation is establishing the Broad Peak Families Support Fund.

Created under our charitable pillar of providing relief to those affected by natural disasters and major climbing incidents, the fund will provide practical financial assistance to the families of those guides, other than Nims, who tragically lost their lives in the Broad Peak avalanche.

This fund is not about replacing what has been lost, nothing ever could.

It is about standing beside families during the darkest of times, helping ease immediate financial pressures and demonstrating that the global mountain community does not forget its own.

Whether it helps provide for children's education, household costs, funeral expenses or other urgent needs, every contribution will become a tangible expression of compassion.

Throughout his life, Nims inspired millions to believe that impossible challenges could be overcome through courage, determination and service to others.

Today, we have the opportunity to honour that legacy in the most meaningful way possible, not by looking back, but by extending a helping hand to those who now face an uncertain future.

Together, we can ensure that from unimaginable tragedy comes lasting compassion.

Together, we can remind these families that they are not alone.

How the Fund Will Help

Donations will be used to provide financial assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in the Broad Peak avalanche (excluding Nims Purja's family).
