For over a decade the Spring Red & White game was named in Brian’s memory and we could not be happier to carry on the tradition with the first home game of every season to be played in his name. Thank you to the entire program and especially Coach Marinelli for continuing to remember a great New Canaan Athlete.
Here are just a few words about what kind of athlete Brian was:
- Brian graduated from New Canaan in 1997 and had a stellar career as a football and wrestling captain for the Rams.
- On the football field he was a Captain, Running Back and ALL STATE AND ALL FCIAC Linebacker.
- On the wrestling mat he was Team Captain, ALL STATE and ALL FCIAC. He was 3-time State Champion, 2 -time FCIAC Champion, He won the CT State Open championship in 1995 and 1996. He placed twice at the New England championships. He had a total of 12 Tournament Championships and an overall record of 138 -16 , including 78-1 mark in dual meets. He never disappointed the home crowd as he never lost a match competing in the Ram’s gym.
- Brian also won the Joe Sikorski Memorial Award along with his teammate and friend, Mike Adair.

There is a plaque honoring his memory in the wrestling room which reads:

Many have embraced the rigors of practice
And the spirit of competition
But few have done so with such
devotion, determination, style and grace
Fewer still have elicited such admiration and
Respect from teammates and foes alike
For those who knew Brian we remember.
For those who follow, be reminded
That your efforts in this room honor his memory
