Brian W. Evans Memorial Fund
Dear Family and Friends,
We are heartbroken by the loss of Brian Wesley Evans, age 81, entered his heavenly home peacefully on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2024. He was born October 17, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Wesley H. Evans and Treva M. Evans. After graduating from Bellaire High School, Brian served in the Army National Guard and then joined his father in the family business, eventually becoming the president, owner and chief operations manager of Evans Music City Inc., a successful Houston music retail store that opened in 1947. Brian was an icon in the music industry.
Having been reared by a family of musical professionals, Brian was well acquainted with music. He loved playing the guitar so much that when he started teaching guitar, his list of students was long. He also formed a well-known combo called the "Chancellors Limited" who recorded a hit song that people demanded they play at various venues, both in Houston and around Texas.
Those who knew Brian will remember his infectious smile and laugh, his sense of humor, and as a very trusted friend who also loved helping people wherever and whenever they needed help. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and sister who adored and protected his family.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Hazel B. Evans, and their two daughters.
This GoFundMe has been created with Hazel Evans' permission for the benefit of funeral arrangements and associated services for Brian Evans. Any remaining funds after direct expenses will be distributed to Hazel Evans.
From the bottom of our heart, thank you for your generosity and love. Your support means the world as we honor Brian's memory and carry forward.
