Jo Brashear is a surgical services float pool nurse for the Greater Winston-Salem market. On Thursday, October 10th, her son Lawson was life-flighted after experiencing an accident. CPR was performed until emergency responders arrived, and he was stabilized—he is now intubated, sedated, and in very critical condition at Brenner's Children's Hospital. He sustained multiple facial fractures and internal bleeding near his spleen and small intestine, and has a collapsed lung requiring a chest tube. He is currently undergoing targeted temperature management after cardiac arrest.

While he only responds to painful stimuli, he does show movement when they reposition him—something his family is deeply grateful for. As Jo and her family focus on being by Lawson's side, please consider donating to the GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial burden associated with medical expenses, travel costs, time away from work, and the uncertainties ahead.

Please consider sharing this page and keeping Lawson, Jo, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers. Please help us show our love and support for the Brashear family. Together, we can lift them up during their darkest days and remind them that they are not alone.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and prayers.
