Heidi Brandt is a long term resident of Grosse Pointe, a neonatal nurse at St John Hospital for 34 years, and a widow. She and her three adult daughters experienced a great loss last night on Lincoln Street. Her house caught on fire and was difficult to put out.

Pretty much everything they owned was in the house, so they are going to be starting over almost from scratch. While thankfully they did have insurance, there undoubtedly will be significant expenses not covered - ranging from storage for anything they can salvage, to emergency vet bills for pets being treated for smoke inhalation, to replacing all of their clothes, medications, and so much more.
