The Brandies Family

This fundraiser is for the Brandies family. My name is Abby Bielling.

(I am making this with Kayla Brandies permission and on behalf of all the

hardships this family has been facing lately.) Kayla has been my best friend

since we were kids, this family is my family. I have personally seen all of the heartache they have faced lately.

To put everything into perspective, Blake's father, (Cory Sweat)

passed away on 9/13/22... Blake is Kayla's oldest child. Blake and Kayla

have had an extremely hard time with Cory's passing. Mentally,

spiritually.. no child should ever have to go through this pain and grief.

Blake is needing counseling, alongside Kayla. He's also been needing to

see doctors for his mental/physical state after losing his daddy. Due to

asthma flare ups, anxiety, overwhelming grief, and handling his anger due

to being confused and devastated.

With all that being said, Kayla is doing her best to stay above water.

Helping her child through his grief, dealing with her own grief. Working HARD, as a

single mother of 2. Kayla has always had a very strong-

willed work ethic. Through all of the trauma and chaos lately, Kayla has sadly

started to deal with VERY severe health issues of her own. Roughly a week after Cory's

passing, Kayla's health started to decline. She went in to get X-ray images

of her neck and back, because of pain she was experiencing. That day, during her X-ray's, she felt very faint, ended up passing out multiple times. She then got admitted at the hospital, for days. They ran multiple tests on her, and misdiagnosed her. She followed up with her primary care

doctor, who then was able to tell her that she is clearly having some type of

heart issues and possible internal bleeding. Due to her symptoms

(tachycardia, fainting, lightheadedness, tingling legs, numbness in hands, tingling/numbness in arms, short of breath, exhaustion.)

Follow up with several specialty doctors is needed for her at this point. She

is unable to stand, walk, go up stairs, accomplish simple tasks... without

her heart rate jumping up into the 150's-200 BPM. At that point she almost

passes out, or does pass out; from trying to just do simple tasks.

Kayla applied for short-term disability, hoping to receive pay for this medical leave. Through her job, and sadly she’s ineligible. She is approved for FMLA. Which only provides her with job

security, and no pay for this long-term medical leave. With no medical leave pay, from work…and with her doctors refusing to clear her with doctors notes, to go back to

work, times are very difficult right now for this family. Kayla's income is the

sole income for this household. Her primary care doctor is predicting that

she will be out of work until December 2022, possibly longer. Depending on

what they figure out with all of her tests and what condition her heart is in.

I took it upon myself to create this Go-Fund Me for Kayla and the

kids, at this time they need all the support they can get. Medical bills are

rolling in, co-pays are adding up, bills are due, stress is at an all-time high for them. Kayla's heart is way too fragile right now, to worry about the

money aspect of things. If this can help take some stress off her heart and

somewhat help her to heal, and improve her health, well that would mean

everything. Blake only has 1 parent left... and his momma's health is in

very delicate condition right now. Any donations are sincerely appreciated

of course 100% of the contributions goes to Kayla and Blake. Blake’s birthday is coming up this month (October) his mommy would like to get him something nice for his birthday. Especially since his dads passing, she wants to do her best to make his birthday as special as possible. This would help her to be able to do that, as well.

UPDATE ON 10/17/22: 

Kayla went to the cardiologist today to receive her BioTel Heart Monitor that she will wear for 48 hours. Once 48 hours is up, she will send the monitor back in, and the cardiologist will review the results and give her a call/follow up with her at the follow up appt. She also has her Tilt Table Heart Study Test scheduled for October 25th. Which will determine a couple different things with her heart, hopefully giving her some answers. Blake has his first counseling appointment scheduled for November 2nd; that was the first appointment they had available for him. Kayla really appreciates all the prayers, advice, positive vibes and donations that everyone has given already. Please continue to keep her and Blake in your prayers as they still are navigating through this difficult time. God Bless ❤️
