The bounce back: Dre’s camera theft recovery

This past weekend, my friend Andre was living out his photography dreams. He had been invited on a European tour to shoot for an artist which was a HUGE opportunity; unfortunately, that dream was short lived as he was robbed for the entirety of his belongings while at a train station in Paris. Thankfully, he’s okay and items can be replaced, however that doesn’t make up for the priceless moments that he lost as a result of this. In the theft he lost his MacBook, his brand new Sony A7s camera, multiple lenses, hard drives containing the entirety of his work (including his upcoming book) from the last year and a half, other smaller cameras, his passport, social, ID, credit / debit cards, phone charger, all of his clothes and sneakers, and even his hearing aid batteries and charger. In a foreign country with no money, no phone battery, and the inability to hear, we are just happy that we were able to get him safely back to the states.

A pivotal part of the culture back home in Worcester, we appreciate the outpouring of Love and Support for Dre from the Woo over these last couple days. This isn’t just a dream, it’s his livelihood we’re talking about. As I’ve stated, and as anyone that has encountered him knows, Dre puts his all into his passion and does everything he can to promote the success of creatives within the region. Even more importantly, he pours into everyone around him and is one of the most selfless people I’ve met.
