The Booten Family

My name is Sarah and this last 6 weeks has been really rough for our family. I fell very ill and it was determined that I had Hepatitis A from eating contaminated Strawberries. I was in the hospital for 6 terrifying days. My liver functions were really bad and it was inlarged by 50%. Then my kidneys decided to join in and began failing. We even had to have conversations with transplant surgeon's. Slowly but surly I began to improve. Was sent home just in time for Sebastian's 8th grade graduation. I was still very ill but managing at home as best as possible. I'm still recovering. 

Sebastian woke up with a migraine the day after graduating and began having seizures associated with his epilepsy. After 3 days we took him to the ER where the gave him fluids and several rounds of a migraine cocktail then sent us home with additional meds and said to come back in 48 hours if things didn't improve. He slept literally for 2 days only waking to tell us he was in pain. He had a big seizure, after he had extreme difficulty walking. It took both Jeremy and I to get him into the car and back to Children's we went. While in the waiting room he had a big clonic-tonic seizure and was rushed in. After a lot of tests they admitted him because he was so unstable and had significant tremors. He was in the hospital for 4 days under close video eeg's and getting PT on the neurology unit. Things are still really rough even now that he is home. His walking is still a huge issue but slowly improving day by day. He is emotionally a wreck and " just wants to feel normal". On top of that his therapy cat got out and is missing.

I have not been able to work and won't be able to for a few more weeks. Financially we are breaking and things are only going to get harder as we will be having alot of medical appointments which means a lot of co-pays ($30.00 a visit). Gas is through the roof to get to and from visits. I just need help.

As hard as this is to have to do, after much thought and direction to do so, I'm calling on my tribe for help.
