The Boneyard Skatepark is the oldest running indoor skatepark in the country. Established in 1996 by Carol Dzelzainis to facilitate the growing need for somewhere for her son and like minded extreme sports participants (Skateboarding, In-line, BMX etc) to practice their craft.
Since then through with the help of numerous people, staff, volunteers, the landlords and you The Boneyard has become a world renowned skatepark not just for the ever changing unique layout of the park but for the unrivalled atmosphere it has created.
Across all sports The Boneyard has held some legendary contests, videos premiers, pro demos and through the coaching sessions developed some amazing riders, skaters, in liners.
The Boneyard has never been or ever will be a profitable organisation, it serves as a safe and friendly environment for all ages and genders as a place to come and have fun, push yourself and more often than not make lifelong friends.
I for one cannot imagine how my life would have been without The Boneyard it has given fantastic opportunities to see the world and build invaluable skills I have taken into adulthood.
Over recent years with dry summers and unfortunately dryer winters the draw of outside has hit the skatepark dramatically, as I mentioned earlier The Boneyard is non profit and survives in a shoe string that is why I/we are asking for your help to give us the breathing room to ride this current storm. If 250 people donated the price of two drinks and cake we could reach our target and continue to provide an environment that has done so much for us and the community over the last 23 years.
Thanks for reading and more importantly thanks for donating.
