The Bonacci Family

The intended audience of this fundraiser is the individuals or groups who desire to contribute financially to the Bonacci family.

For those of you who are not familiar with Marc Bonacci Sr., he won his battle with multiple myeloma 7 years ago. He was given a bone marrow transplant and has been in remission ever since. Last month, on April 24, the Doctor's diagnosed him with secondary Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) much to Marc and the family’s distress. He has recently begun chemotherapy again and will need another bone marrow transplant soon. He will be incapable of working due to the complications involved with battling cancer and the risks that come with COVID-19 outside of his home.

To compound the situation further, their son Marc (Markie) Bonacci was involved in an early morning incident at his apartment. The emergency response team arrived on scene, and found him inside barely breathing. In a quick course of action, he was pulled out of the apartment and rushed to the hospital immediately. That same morning, he was transferred to a burn unit at a different hospital and intubated with 100% oxygen. During his stay, the team at this hospital had been diligently monitoring and checking Markie’s vital functions on a day to day basis.  On May 15th, one of the doctors performed a test to check Markie’s brain response. The doctor did this by shouting his name, and something profound happened. Markie responded to the doctor’s yelling by opening his eyes. The doctor then yelled a second time. When this occurred, Markie fixed his eyes on the doctor and kept them open while tracking the doctor as they walked across the room. This served as strong evidence that his higher brain functioning was still intact, it is just not fully recovered yet.

By the grace of God, Markie was transferred to another hospital where he was placed on a device called an ECMO machine. The primary function of this machine is to decrease the stress on his lungs and allow him to rest and recover. However, the time that he will be required to be on this machine and the time that he will need for a full recovery remains unknown.

We want to extend our deepest heartfelt gratitude to the families and friends who have provided their unconditional love and support to the Bonacci family so far.

To anyone that is capable of contributing financially, Jennifer (Mrs. Bonacci) is now the sole provider for her family. Furthermore, she has to support her husband and youngest son through their medical issues and will need to take time off from her job. Knowing firsthand that difficult times can place a large financial strain on anyone, the Bonacci family has requested that  anyone who is incapable of giving or by doing so, will place a burden on them, do not. Whether you can contribute financially or not, we request that anyone who sees this please pray (or continue to pray) for God’s healing and strength for the Bonacci family (Marc, Jennifer, John, Gina and Markie).

Please consider sharing this with anyone who has or had a relationship with the Bonacci family. We thank you for your concern and time in reading this. May God’s blessings and safety fall upon you and your families during this time.
