THE BODY, a Melbourne-based short, is a satire about our cultural obsession with true crime, particularly women who are murdered. Stylised and absurdist, this film-within-a-film follows a young actor who plays a dead body on a crime TV show, as she finally finds her voice...

We filmed THE BODY over a weekend in April 2023. This was a self-funded project and we were lucky enough to pull together the funds to get this film shot! We had an incredibly talented local cast & crew (of mostly volunteers) come together to make this possible.

We now need some financial support to complete post-production on THE BODY. To transform the film from the camera to your screens is a lengthy and expensive process. We need to raise funds to cover:

Editing - we hire a professional editor to cut the film together so the story can be told as intended
Colour grading - a professional grader transforms the existing footage to enhance colouring/tone for digital viewing
Sound design - a sound designer brings all audio elements together so the story can be told as intended
Film festival submissions - we want our film to get the opportunity to be screened across the globe, and the majority of film festivals charge a submission fee.
