The Blue Sirius Healing Fund

First, I would like to thank you for reading my story. Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated. While I don't know if everyone who reads this will be able to help, I do think it takes community effort to care for one another and thank you for yours. I hope you will be able to aid me during this difficult time.

It is hard for me to ask for this kind of help and it has become clear that I currently need some support in my journey back to health.

Over the past number of months I have developed sensitivities to a large number of foods as well as environmental elements. To make a long story short I react to most foods I eat and an ever increasing number of things in my general environment, such as dogs (and other animals), grasses, the perfumes and cigarette smoke which cling to people, as well as other strong smells such as coffee, plates of spicy food, everyday products and chemicals (even the small of dryer sheets coming out of a dryer vent when I walked past a neighbor's home) and much more. These reactions are constant and range from mild skin itching, congestion, and asthma all the way to much serious anaphylactic reactions of severe hives and throat swelling which have sent me to the emergency room.

Because of this I have had to stop working and give up my dog pack adventures business which was my full time employment and source of income. (I have even sent my dog, Ella, to live full-time in another house).

I am on an extremely limited diet, trying to balance the few foods I can eat so that I don't develop a reaction to them. I have dropped 80 pounds in the past 5 months. (I guess it was a good thing I had plenty of weight to spare).

And while this sounds crazy, doesn't seem to make any sense, and has been devastating, there is hope. Through constant and persistent effort, and not taking "I don't know what to tell you, just take your antihistamines"  (The approach a couple of doctors had, as I continued to get sicker and sicker) I have started to get some answers and begin down the very long and slow path to healing.

In my quest to survive I saw traditional medicine doctor, after traditional medicine doctor, after traditional medicine doctor, acupuncturists, allergists (both traditional and homeopathic), a naturopath, body workers and a nutritionist.  I have had every test they could think of and several I came up with on my own run. I have been tested, twice, for every autoimmune disease, parasite, and allergy there is. I've had two different rounds of blood tests send to the Mayo Clinic, both skin and blood allergy testing, gut testing, ultrasounds, and different scope, stool, and saliva tests done. I've been given medications I have reacted to and others which seem to keep me alive during the most intense and scary times.

After many test which showed normal results I started to get some answers and part of the picture. Most of the issues seem to be in my gut and intestine, (and a few more places) causing my immune system to go crazy. I do have a treatment plan and understand the work required for the LONG and SLOW journey back to a normal and health filled life. I work my butt of every day doing the different detox protocols and things required to heal.  I currently work in combination with an amazing nutritionist, my doctor at kaiser, an allergy treatment center in the city, an acupuncturist, and a body worker to heal my body and restore my system back to calm.

The healing has begun, one big win is I am off of prednisone which I was taking three times and day and was creating even more gut issues, but at the time keeping me alive.  And this is long from over, I have a slow process ahead of me and while it will get better it is also a roller-coaster ride with dips and valleys and setbacks.

The truth is at this point my rest and healing must be a full-time job, I am too sensitive to the outside world and environment to work while healing properly. This has been hard to come to terms with, but it is the current state of my life. And while I am trying to use this time to not only heal but also find other solutions (I am taking an online course to learn how to write fiction and want to create a series of children's books about dogs) the means to pay for all the treatments, practitioner visits, labs not covered by insurance, as well as a few basic living expenses is where I need help.

Those that know me, know I am very independent and I am usually the one offering the help and not asking for it, so this is a hard ask for me.

If you are able to help with a financial donation it is greatly appreciated. And if you are not in the position to help financially perhaps sharing this post across your different social media platforms would help as well. I know that over the years I have donated to a number of people I didn't know because I could see they needed the help and I had the funds to spare. Sharing this post would be especially helpful as I am an introvert who has spent most of my time it in the woods with dogs, and thus just don't know as many people as the more social ones among you.

And please know any funds raised via this campaign to pay for my time of healing and not used (because I have my health back and can be full self-supporting, YAY!) will be donated to others in need due to medical crisis.

I want to take this time to once again thank any and all of you who read this post, are able to help support me through a donation and share this story with others.

With great humility, appreciation, and love,
