The Blue Hill Early Learning Center is a nonprofit organization formed in response to the childcare gap in Blue Hill led by a group of volunteer members of the community.
We have partnered with the Blue Hill United Methodist Church which has generously granted a lease for their building, with the future intention to gift the building and its grounds to the Center in the years to come. We were excited to become a C4K Community in June, which has been a great support for us in this endeavor. We had planned to do the renovation project in phases, but we were blessed with a start-up grant from DHHS in July, which prompted us to use those resources to go forward with a complete renovation of the building all at once to make it meet the code for childcare licensing.
We have a director secured and a general contractor who is on track to complete the work by the end of December. We are in the middle of construction and have run into some unexpected expenses during the renovation stage, which has left us with a $250,000 gap in funding.
We are anxious to open the doors to the Center to help our families and close the childcare gap in our community but
need additional funding to make that happen. We are an IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) public charity, which means you are able to take an income tax charitable deduction for donations that are made.
Please consider helping out to provide this much-needed facility in our community!
