Hi, my name is Brittney and I'm fundraising for one of my longest friends Deana, and her family. Deana and her husband Ric have lived with their children Jagger (8) and Melodi (1.5 years) right beside Ric's parent's George and Patti Bloom as long as I've known them, and many years before that. They live alongside Mill Creek which they affectionately refer to as "the crick," and they are no strangers to floods. That being said, I was immediately worried for Deana and her children when I saw the state of Richboro with last night's tornado and the amount of rain and flooding we were getting. Deana's house, as well as the adjoining house that Ric's parent's live in suffered terribly. If you know Deana, you know she is a tough cookie and can handle whatever is sent her way. She salvaged what she could of her son's prized possessions including his clothes and his karate gear, and they recovered his wet wad of savings money after a search and rescue mission. They did however lose his bed, dresser, games, and many toys, and personal affects. The family lost their entire kitchen essentially, their refrigerator, oven, food, all destroyed. A hot water heater went floating in the basement. Each side of the home had between 4-9 feet of water. Deana's children are her main priority and she is doing the best she can to shield them from how overwhelmed she is feeling, make the best of a terrible situation, clean up and move on. Thankfully everyone is safe, and that is the most important thing. All we can do to alleviate the stress even a little is to rally behind her.
