Hello, my name is Sarah — I’m an interdisciplinary artist, cat whisperer, wanderer, and believer in the quiet power of beauty.
In July 2025, I’ll be flying to Rome to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday — ten years of sisterhood sealed with wine, beach sunsets, and the chaos of Italian traffic. But after she heads home, I’ll be staying. Not just to travel — but to begin something I’ve dreamed of for years: a creative pilgrimage across Europe.
This journey will feed into my debut gallery exhibition, The Bloom Archive, opening January 2026.
Why “The Bloom Archive”?
For a long time, I thought I was photographing flowers. But really, I’ve been documenting people — and the moments they bloom.
Sometimes it’s soft. Sometimes chaotic. Sometimes we bloom and wilt at the same time.
The Bloom Archive is a body of work exploring growth, decay, spirituality, and human connection. It began with botanical studies, but it’s expanded into something deeper: a meditation on how we — as individuals and as a species — cycle through seasons of becoming.
I want to spend this time in Europe working with artists, visiting museums and cathedrals, wandering cities and forgotten corners, capturing the emotional and visual textures of places that have held human longing for centuries. I’ll be photographing, journaling, creating zines, and collaborating with friends in the Netherlands, Germany, and the Czech Republic who are exploring identity, transformation, and embodiment through art and photography.
What You’re Supporting
This isn’t a vacation. It’s a turning point. It’s the liminal space between the “before” and the exhibit.
Your contribution will go toward:
- Trains, buses, and low-cost flights to reach artists, studios, and sacred spaces
- Entry to museums, gardens, and cultural landmarks (cathedrals, galleries, historical sites)
- Materials: film, gear rentals, prints, zine production
- Budget meals, modest lodging, and quiet moments in cafes where ideas bloom
- Covering the gaps after my initial week in Rome — allowing me to extend the journey with focus and intention
❤️ Gratitude Offerings
I believe in creative reciprocity. I want to share this experience with you in ways that feel meaningful.
Depending on your donation, you may receive:
- $10 — A digital “postcard” from one of the places I visit (photo + personal note)
- $25 — Three curated digital photo downloads from The Bloom Archive
- $50 — A mini photo zine (PDF) titled Wilting & Wonder
- $100 — A signed 4x6 print mailed to you + your name in my exhibit credits
- $250+ — A limited-edition signed print + a private voice note from the road
If you can’t donate but want to share this or send encouragement, that means the world to me. Words and visibility are a kind of currency too!
Why Now?
Because time doesn’t always wait for us to feel ready. And something in me says this is the right season to follow the pull.
Art has always helped me process this world — its grief, its joy, its absurdity, its beauty. I want this journey to be as honest and raw as it is curated. I want to show the peeling paint and the perfect light. The detours. The homesickness. The moments I sit quietly and feel my own roots shifting beneath me.
If you’re still reading, thank you. I hope this project resonates with some part of you — the part that is also blooming, or wilting, or waiting for the next season to begin.
With love and gratitude,
Sarah Leach <3
