Ed Gillen is a close family friend, a dedicated softball coach, a loving father, and a well-known member of the Dedham, Massachusetts community.

He is the proud father of four children—Mitch, Josh, Samantha, and Dayna—who mean everything to him. Anyone who knows Ed understands how deeply committed he is to his family. Whether on the field, on the court, or in everyday life, he has always shown up with positivity, energy, and unwavering encouragement. He is the kind of person who lifts others up simply by being there.

Recently, Ed’s life changed unexpectedly when he experienced sudden and severe vision loss due to complications related to a prescribed medication. Over the past several months, he has been under the care of medical professionals, working to adjust to this life-altering condition.

This has not been an easy journey for Ed or his family, as they have all had to adapt to a new way of living. Ed is no longer able to work in the same capacity as before, and while he continues to navigate these challenges, he remains the same positive, resilient person everyone knows and loves.

Funds raised will go toward supporting the Coach BlindED Foundation Inc., which aims to:

• Support individuals who are blind or visually impaired

• Raise awareness about vision loss

• Help fund critical research

Ed has always been the life of the party, bringing joy and energy wherever he goes. Now, we are hoping to rally around him as he faces this new chapter.
