The Blackbourn's Hurricane Disaster Relief
Donation protected
Imagine you chased your families dream and relocated across the country. You're family is happy and setting roots in your new life. Then, a year later, Valdosta Georgia's worst natural disaster in decades hits your new home. You lose everything. This is what happened to the Blackbourn family.
Hi, I am Kyle Marcum, and it is with great urgency and distress that I am asking for help for my family. My sister, Kaitlin, Brother in Law, Dan, and two nephews Kaiden and Karter, are suffering the destruction of their home.
Hurricane Idalia caused significant damage to their home. The entire house is flooded, along with other damage. They cannot stay there and have been without power. They have lost nearly everything within it. Furniture is ruined, their floor needs to be ripped out and replaced, mold is inevitable, the list goes on. They've had zero help as they wait on a long list to get assistance. Without power for the foreseeable future, it is impossible for them to do anything to fix it. FEMA is unresponsive and not taking any cases. Insurance will not work with them because they do not have flood insurance. They are at a loss for what to do.
The funds accumulated from this will be spent entirely on expenses accrued from the disaster.
-Hotels. They cannot stay in their house.
-The restoration of their home. Floors, cabinets, walls, etc. It is crippling damage that will be expensive.
-Furniture and other items lost for when they get back in their house.
-Daily necessities as wages are lost while they deal with this disaster.
I ask in the most sincere way for your help. They were very hesitant for me to make this, but this is one of the few options they have at getting through this. I call on the city of Freeport and anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing Katie, Dan, and the boys. I call on Valdosta to help a teacher and beloved coach in need. I call personally on anyone I have positively impacted as a teacher in Freeport. Finally, I call out to any stranger coming across this post. Your donation will go to a good family in need.
I hope you all have a great day, and may all people hurt by Idalia recover from their losses.
