The Bjalme Family's Medical Expenses

Many of you know Emily and Kane Bjalme, who grew up in Penns Valley and are the parents to two sweet and loving young boys. Emily is a nurse in both the Education Department and the Women and Children’s Services Unit at Mount Nittany Medical Center, and Kane is a massage therapist at Artemis Massage Studio. They’ve both dedicated their careers and talents to caring for the people in our community.

On Thursday, October 5th, Emily and Kane’s world was turned upside down when their two-year-old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He underwent surgery the very next day.

His surgeon is optimistic that he removed the entire tumor, but now the family faces a year of radiation and chemotherapy, which will necessitate frequent travel to Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

This fundraiser is to assist Kane and Emily with the significant costs associated with treatment, travel, and missed work, so that they can focus on supporting their son’s healing. Let’s show the Bjalme family that they’ve got the love and support of our whole community!
