Hi! My name is Kuba Nowaczyk, an up-and-coming filmmaker based in Cork, Ireland. The Bird Bridge Deprimere is my debut short film which has been my passion project since the start of the year.

The story revolves around Slater, a man consumed by grief after losing his best friend to cancer. This grief is personified through a mental demon who has a resemblance of his best friend, Mort. This story focuses on how men can and still tend to bottle up their emotions rather than ask others to help so as to not appear weak or be pitied. This story is very personal to me and I want to spread awareness about this issue. With it being Men's Mental Health Awareness Month I felt it would be right to announce my short film now.

The production is planned to film in early August 2025 with a wonderful crew of emerging filmmakers from UCC. In order to fully support the film's vision, we are aiming to raise €1000 and any budget remaining after completion will be donated to Grow Mental Health and Samaritans to fully support the cause behind this film.
