Hiya! I'm Michaels sister, Rachel.
Five years ago Michael was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and began his treatment with the Christie hospital in Manchester.
Somewhat inconveniently, myself and our parents lived all the way over in Hull, so thus began a period of many months that Heather and David (our mam & dad) spent travelling back and forth on the M62, to be with him during chemo.
And it was covid times, so they had to take it in turns and often passed each other on the motorway as they swapped places.
To mark five years since that diagnosis, I'm going to take on that Hull to Manchester journey - but on foot.
It's around 100 miles, and I want to do a minimum of 20 miles a day, ending at the Christie hospital on Saturday 27th June.
I've got a reasonable level of fitness - but I'll be the first to admit I've never done anything like this before.
Got to go hard or go home for my favourite sibling though.
We'll be splitting the donations 50/50 between Teenage Cancer Trust, who Michael was really grateful to during his treatment, and the Christie Charity, who provide enhanced services over and above what the NHS can fund.
Please donate whatever you can - and think of the fact that I will probably lose toenails doing this and then increase your donation by however much you think that's worth. A lot, I reckon.
Ta,
Rach x
