Big Green Bus Animal Sanctuary

We are Matt & Chloe, a young couple that has a huge passion for Animals. We Started Steampuss Cat Lounge in 2019 with the end goal of opening an animal Sanctuary with any profits we made, however things didn't quite go to plan. 6 months after opening we were hit with COVID and now we face a cost of living crisis. Although we do not give up easily we have no choice but to close our doors for the last time at the end of August. Running this business for the last 4 years has put a massive strain on our personal finances and because of this our credit ratings which were once excellent have been destroyed making the possibility of achieving our goal much more difficult!

However we have a plan! If we can raise enough money we are going to convert an old disused double decker bus in to an eco home for us and our 15 cats, obtain some land and begin building a safe haven for any animals that need refuge from chickens, pigs and cows to cats, dogs, ducks, rabbits etc. We then want to open this space to the public, offer volunteering opportunities, hold events, and educate children and adults alike on the beauty of animals that are often disregarded as food and treated so differently just because of their species. We decided to do this fundraiser in steps so.....

Step 1. Raise £5000 to purchase a double decker bus. (We will fund the renovation ourselves)

Step 2. Increase the target to an amount that will allow us to purchase some land. 

Step 3. Apply for planning permission

Step 4. Rescue some animals! 

Step 5. Open the sanctuary to the public for the first time.

Step 6. Continue to grow the sanctuary and hopefully be able to offer camping opportunities.
