The Big C vs. Brother Dave Stennett
Donation protected
Walt Wheat here. My pal Dave Stennett whom I’ve known for 2/3 of my life has been diagnosed with advanced stage liver and colon cancer. With chemo treatments his oncologist has given him +-18 months, +-half that without. He’s aware of the pros and cons of the treatments and has decided to proceed with them so he’s getting his port put in this week. Both his parents are already gone, he’s an only child and his extended family being an extremely small one to begin with is spread pretty thinly as it is. He’s unable to work at this point and is in the process of getting disability and social security but as most of us know the bureaucracies will gold brick him on that for as long as they possibly can. At this point it’s all about his comfort, quality of life, covering basic living expenses, medical expenses, keeping his home clean, helping purchase nutrient dense and clean foods etc. On a positive note, even though he’s got a tumor in his colon that is causing him some pain and discomfort he’s still in a relatively chipper mood, pursuing things that interest him, communicating with friends and trying to stay as involved as possible.
Some of you know that he spent many years as the vocalist and front man for Before I Hang and during his tenure was instrumental in taking it in the direction it needed to go in. A direction that it is still going in to this very day. So whether you know him personally or as an entertainment personality, perhaps both or even not at all, please help him out if you’re able. This is my first time doing this so I assume the funds will go to my bank or any number of iPayment services at which point the plan is I’ll hand the cash over to a couple of our mutual life long friends Tracey Towne and Pastor Thomas Graves who are acting as the “boots on the ground” so to speak. They’ve been very proactive so far in getting his place cleaned up and prepared it for what lies ahead as well as getting his bills handled, keeping him fed, making sure he gets to his appointments and providing spiritual comfort. Thanks for helping and sharing and if praying/sending positive vibes is all you’re in a position to offer we all appreciate that too!!
