Hi my name is Mykel, I am 33 years young and I am born and raised in Birmingham UK. If you know me I like to stay active go to work and working out at the gym. I used to play football and go to the studio to make music because that is one of my passions, but I have been restricted from doing these things because of my illness. I have been fighting hodgkins lymphoma for the past 5 years now and I have had stage 4 cancer which was in my bone marrow and I had to have a stem cell transplant with my own cells. After all the chemotherapy given to me over the years, most chemo treatment did not respond to my body. I have been in remission since May 2023, unfortunetely a year later the cancer has came back at stage 3 and my consultant stated there is minimal options for treatment in the UK at this present time. So my reason for this fundraiser is to travel abroad for chemotherapy radiotherapy treatment. It will also go towards any accomodation needed for my stay where ever in the world i am having treatment. There is no NHS (payed treatment) out of the UK so the money raised will pay for any treatment and travel needed to get to the States etc. Ive researched a place in Texas a cancer centre called MD Anderson and another called the Mayo Clinic where they have treatment that can get rid of this disgusting disease that has been with me for so long. By speaking to friends and family I know they have lost family and friends from various types of cancer and I want to be the one to say I have beaten it three times so this is very important to me to show others in the world do not make the big C win the fight. WE CAN BEAT CANCER !!
