We're making a film! A short one! And we need your help!

One night, Daniel Kvoras and Megan Rose McCarthy - both avid fans of old Hollywood movies - were drunkenly bemoaning the lack of good rom-coms, and hatched a plan to make a romantic comedy in the style of the old screwball movies that they love.

Through late nights writing sessions, with elbow grease and gumption, the script was scripted, the cast has been cast and the crew has been crewed. All that's needed now is cash. A lot of cash. This is where YOU come in.

The Big Brief tells the story of reporters and exes Tess Wesley and Sam Harding, who run into each other at a Christmas party. A turn of events means they must work together to save their old newspaper.

Our story is a classic screwball romantic comedy set in today’s world - with the aesthetics and pacing of an old-Hollywood classic clashing against the realities of the modern world. It explores what a grand, sweeping romance looks like today, and why there is something about the classic films of the genre that never seem to get old.

We are a team of writers, performers and producers – we are in awe of and know how much skill these roles can bring to a production. We want to give talented individuals the chance to collaborate on our film with budget allocated to them for their time and rentals/materials.

Our wonderful cast of actors are putting in rehearsals, prep and performance time for this and we could not make it without them – we would like to be able to compensate them fairly.

We are raising this sum to hire and fairly pay skilled actors, lighting designer, art director, hair and makeup artist, camera assistant, plus give them budget for props, costumes and kit. This covers a 3 day shoot plus appropriate prep time.
