My name is Bill Liberio, and I am reaching out to share a significant chapter in my life and remarkable journey that I am about to embark upon.

After enduring two decades of persistent pain, resulting in a gait reminiscent of a person twice my age, I underwent a transformative spinal surgery on Aug 11 2023. the procedure, a complete fusion, unfolded flawlessly, affording me a swift recovery that enabled me to resume activities such as cycling and reclaiming my physical fitness in under two months. During my recovery period, I delved into the world of "Bikepacking" and conceived an ambitious plan to traverse the distance from San Diego CA to Saint Augustine FL. This venture entails covering an average of 50-75 miles daily, embracing the simplicity of camping in a tent, and immersing myself in the breathtaking landscapes our country has to offer. My objective is to commence this journey on April 1 , humorously acknowledging my departure date as April Fool's Day, and conclude it by my 70th birthday on May 29 2024.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to garner support for logistical aspects of my journey. including transportation to CA. sustenance. and accommodations for at least 1-2 nights per week in a hotel. I aim to document this extraordinary expedition through videos, photographs and drone footage, with a twofold mission: to instill hope in individuals grappling with significant back issues and advocate for the commendable work of Sarasota Memorial Hospital and its dedicated staff, who played a pivotal role in restoring the quality of my life. Additionally, I am committed to raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation , a cause close to my heart. Your contribution, irrespective of its size, will make a meaningful impact.
