The Bernard Curry Music Camp Scholarship Award. Provides full tuition to a deserving 8/9th grader to attend the Curry Summer Music Camp at NAU. The scholarship would include tuition, meals and housing in Flagstaff, Arizona for one week in June.
Mr. Benjamin Bernard Curry, 88, was born on April 24, 1935 in Franklin, AZ, and passed away on March 11, 2024, in Show Low, AZ. He was the youngest of 12 children.
Mr. Curry was a beloved music educator, spending most of his career at Coconino High School and EFJHS/MEMS in Flagstaff, AZ. He also taught at the Curry Summer Music Camp at NAU for 44 consecutive years.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Curry, daughter Cathy Curry, son Chuck Curry, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Curry's career as a Band Director included positions at Santa Cruz Valley Union HS, Tempe HS, Flagstaff HS, Coconino HS and EFJHS/MEMS
Bernard Curry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched through his passion for music education.
