Hi friends! On June 29th, Mindy Benke contracted Ecoli. Due to some of the issues associated with this horrible disease, she has been hospitalized since June 30.
As I type this, Mindy is in ICU fighting for her life. She has had many ups and downs. There are many different variations of Ecoli. This particular instance, has moved to the HUS syndrome. This has severely affected her kidneys. While there is not a prognosis, we do know that at this point she is looking at continuous care once and if this gets resolved.
Jay, her husband, has been by her side each step of the way. There are good days and bad. We are praying God brings her through this.
Many of you may already know, but in 2017 Mindy suffered multiple strokes as well and spent almost three months in the hospital. With time and continuous effort she beat the odds and came through! We know she is a fighter and will overcome this. They live in Stephenville (Morgan Mill) and the hospital is 1.45 hrs away each way. If you feel so inclined, will you please consider donating? If you are unable, will you please pray? Mindy has a story to tell! One of faith, perseverance, and bravery. We have been friends for over 30 years and I haven’t met a stronger person!
