The Bee Team

The Bee Team is starting a native bee sanctuary on Dharawal land on top of the rooftop of the Wollongong Shopping Centre. The garden will be full of native Illawarra flora that is attractive to pollinators and will be home to hives of Tetragonula Carbonaria bees (stingless). Bees play an essential role in ensuring food security and ecosystem health. The world would be a bleak place without bees. That is why The Bee Team is creating a safe space for bees to grow in population and show people ways they can help bees at home.
