Our beloved friend Jane has recently received some particularly lousy news. After ten years of hard won triumph over cancer (including lung and neuroendocrine tumours), she has just found out that the persistent pain and fatigue she has been experiencing is caused by new tumour growth on her liver.

She also received the devastating news that her most recent imaging shows evidence of erosion in her skull.

Jane and her partner Sasha

were planning a holiday of a lifetime, due to leave for Macedonia (Sasha’s home country) and France, to reconnect with family, friends and Sasha’s painting mentor.

Unfortunately Jane’s cancer history meant comprehensive travel insurance was exorbitantly expensive. And her current treatment plans, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, mean any holiday is absolutely out of the question right now.

In true Jane style, she is more concerned about the impact on Sasha (whilst also worrying about everybody else in the world having a difficult time because that’s just the sort of person Jane is).

So now this amazing human finds herself unable to holiday, unable to work (as a disability support worker for people with complex mental health issues) and facing an uncertain future.

We would like to take some of the pressure off our dear friend and so hope this fundraiser will allow her to focus not only on her treatment but on being as kind to herself as she is to everyone she meets.
