The Beat Will Go On, But Evan's Family Needs Help!

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Evan’s wife Amy. We’ve been married for 13 years. Our son (11) is also named Evan so we refer to him as Lil E. Like most families, we’ve had ups and downs, but this year has been really tough. Evan has been a great husband and an awesome dad since day one. I have had lifelong mental health issues which are at times debilitating. We lost my mom early this year and it was devastating for all of us. Evan has supported us through this and more without complaint, working hard at his day job and somehow making time to express his talent and unique creativity as the drummer of Swamp Thing, a well-loved San Francisco rock band fronted by the great Roxy Roller. Evan has made many connections in the SF music scene which is no surprise as he is a good friend and all-around cool guy. Not only that, Evan has this ingenious ability to repair electric scooters, skateboards, and bikes. He has become passionate about these vehicles and has loved riding them as well.

Unfortunately, Evan was in a skateboarding accident yesterday and is in the ICU with a subarachnoid hemorrhage. While the prognosis looks pretty good, the road to full recovery might be bumpy. This is the second time Evan has been hospitalized this year. He had a serious infection in his finger in June that required surgery and aftercare. We have been struggling financially and now I’m worried about losing our housing. I’ll do what I can to keep things afloat but am severely under-resourced at the moment. Our son needs me to be present as he has been struggling with extreme anxiety as well as depression and grief.

Evan and I are typically reluctant to ask for help but this has become a crisis situation. Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate money to help us pay rent and bills.
  • No worries if you can’t donate- positive vibes are always welcome!
  • Spread the word if you feel inclined.
  • Pet food for three cats and a dog would be appreciated. Food for the humans would also be warmly welcomed.

We’re grateful for your support and hope to pay it forward when things get better.
