Hi everyone. My name is Denise Bazaldua and I was just given a second chance at life. I contacted Covid in August of 2021 and our life was turned upside down. I was admitted to Houston Methodist on 8/30/21 and have been hospitalized since. My family was told to expect for the worst case scenario but we maintained our faith and knew God would provide a way. I cannot begin to tell you the amount of medical hurdles we have had to endure in addition to being separated from my family. What should have torn our family apart only made us stronger. I received the wonderful gift of organ donation and had a bilateral lung transplant on May 3, 2023. I am still in the hospital recovering from surgery and am fortunate to have the opportunity to make it home to my family soon. As you can imagine we have depleted our savings during this time and are not exactly sure what additional financial hurdles are coming our way.
