Hello! I'm reaching out for help and support for this challenging time that my family and I have been struggling through. My wife Roxane has been in and out of the hospital for over 2 years now. It all started in August of 2021 when she got sick with covid. She was intubated for about 2 months and ended up surviving through that experience. A few weeks later at the rehab center she was staying in, she started experiencing chest pains so they ended up taking her to the emergency room and it turned out that the pain was do to her gallbladder being infected. The Dr's told us that they couldn't operate on her do to her weak condition so, they put a drainage tube to try to manage it in that way. Well, it turned out that the infection, infected her blood stream and it ended up infecting her heart valve. So in February 1st of last year she had to have open heart surgery to replace her heart valve with a mechanical valve. A week after surgery she went into code blue 3 times. The first time her heart stopped for 45 minutes and the other 2 times for about 15 minutes each. By the grace of God they brought her back each time. Also, she's going through kidney failure and has to do dialysis 3 times a week. Almost going on a year of her not being hospitalized, Since her kidneys are falling she ended up getting a condition called calciphylaxis. This condition is do to the kidneys throwing out calcium deposits throughout the body, and where they land, that area starts to die. It's a very extremely painful condition and has a 80 percent mortality rate. I had to take her to the er med may because her infection caused her to go through toxic shock so she had to be hospitalized again so they can treat her. She came out of that and was home for about 2 weeks before she went back because of seizures she started to have and had fallen and hit her head. She then survived that but had to bring back to the hospital. She's been hospitalized for about 6 months now. She ended up getting a really bad bed sore on her bottom. Well, this bed sore got bad especially with her condition (calciphylaxis). They had to surgically clean her wound. They ended up taking so much off of her that they left a basketball size whole on her bottom. This wound isnt healing its only getting worse. The Dr's say her body is slowly rotting and decaying. She's fighting infections after infections all at once. I truly do not know how long we have with her. Do to all her hospitalization and just being sick I've had to miss a tremendous amount of work. Always having to miss several days a week. Today i got a call from the Dr's and its just never good news. They've given up hope. Telling me that theres literally nothing they can do. This time it really is a matter of time. Im so heartbroken to know that shes not coming home this time around and that i cant do anything to help or save her. I cant explain the feelings i have. Knowing that ill never come home from work to her greeting me, never coming home to the smell of her amazing dinners,  never having her tell me that everything will be alright. Never hearing her voice again and never seeing her being a great mother to our kids again. I'm not the type to ask for help or except help as well, but I have to put my pride aside. I'd like to give her the burial she deserves and also help us as a family in this difficult time. truly appreciate all and any assistance that you might provide, and please share this post.
