Hi, my name is Kristen, and I’m fundraising to support my dear friend Linda and her family as they lay to rest their beloved mother and grandmother, Marie Bartleman.

Marie’s passing on Monday was sudden and deeply heartbreaking for everyone who loved her. As a proud Indigenous woman of Tsarlip heritage, Marie’s life was one of strength, generosity, and care for those around her. In keeping with Tsarlip tradition, we will not be sharing her photo at this time.

The family has been given a quote of at least $8,000 to cover burial and related expenses. Linda and her family have always given so much to our community — now it’s our turn to give back and help them honour Marie with the dignity, love, and ceremony she deserves.
