As we all know, our current economy creates challenges as we attempt to fundraise as much as possible to provide a first-class football program for our student-athletes. The football program was established back in 2006 and has been up and going for seventeen years now. In those seventeen years the Barrow Whaler players never had a real locker room to call home. The players have been getting dressed for practice out of their travel bags each season. As the Head Coach I want to challenge all our supporters to help raise the thirty thousand dollars needed to create a locker room. Football provides tremendous learning opportunities that have a major impact on our youth. The players learn responsibility, commitment, balance, and how to face adversity both on and off the field. The lessons learned in football will have a lifelong impact on our student athletes and our community. The funds we receive help our players and football program by laying a foundation for success that transcends what happens on the field. We were generously donated the carpet for the flooring with our logo and it has been laid in the room. We now need lockers, and benches. Shipping is a huge part of our budget as getting large items shipped to our remote location is very costly. Please donate what you can and encourage others to donate what they can for these amazing boys who have fought through so much adversity and deserve a locker room to get dressed in before each home game.
