The Barbara Mehlert Multiple Myeloma Fund
Hello friends and classmates,
As many of you know Barbara Mehlert is battling Multiple Myeloma. I’m happy to report that Barb is in remission but she still faces many daily struggles as a result of this illness.
It is very difficult for Barb to get around as she is on oxygen and uses a walker. Barb also experiences daily pain as a result of her illness. Because of this she gets fatigued very easily.
She really cannot do very many things in the home at this time such as cleaning, cooking, and driving herself to doctor appointments etc.

Her caregiver and longtime boyfriend Bill has taken most of these things on.
I know firsthand how challenging and extremely exhausting it is to be a caregiver. Trying to balance all the responsibilities of taking care of someone who is chronically ill all while taking care of their own needs and everything else at the same time can cause serious burn out!
I am really hoping to raise some funds for Barb and Bill to use however they see fit. Getting them some help at home or paying for something else that can bring some relief.
I would like to raise these funds for Barbara in honor of my loving husband Mark.

Most of you know that he passed away in January from complications of severe chronic graft versus host disease after receiving an unmatched bone marrow transplant. Mark was a pillar of courage and fought bravely to the end.
Mark adored Barb and visa versa.

Won’t you join me in supporting our dear friend Barb and getting some much needed help out to Barb and Bill during this challenging time.
Thank you so much,
